I make functional tableware. Most of my work is wheel-thrown and wood-fired, although I also enjoy hand building and make a good amount of work in the electric kilns at the Potters Guild, and I enjoy other types of firing like gas/reduction firing and pit firing.
I studied painting and printmaking at VCU and gradually got into ceramics after graduating. I've been a member at the Potters Guild since 2012, have taught there since 2014, and also teach at Baltimore Clayworks. I'm a core member at Monocacy River Pottery, where I do most of my firing, and have been learning how to build large wood burning kilns in Maine and North Carolina.
